What is a token economy?
A token economy is a structured reward system that reinforces positive behavior by using tokens as currency. These tokens can later be exchanged for rewards or privileges. It is widely used in homes, schools, therapy, and workplace settings to encourage good habits, motivation, and self-discipline.

How to use it?

Each reward card set comes with a printable reward card and its corresponding tokens.
1. Describe the desired behavior. You may write down the desired goal or behavior on the reward card to serve as a visual cue to set your kid's mind on what he has to work for. Examples include:

✅ Following classroom rules
✅ Cleaning up toys
✅ Practicing social skills
✅ Managing emotions

2. Identify the reward—work with your kid to establish what his reward will be. This will help boost his motivation and provides a positive reinforcement for your desired behavior.

3. Set the reward system—introduce to your child that for every positive behavior, he or she will be rewarded with a token that will be pasted on the reward card. This helps them keep track of how many tokens they have to keep redeeming in order to get their reward.

4. Track Progress & Adjust. Monitor behaviors and adjust the system as needed. If motivation drops, increase token value or refresh the reward options.
