A Release, Waiver, and Quitclaim is usually given by the Releasor to settle a dispute between the Parties, such as when the Releasor is alleging that the Released is liable to the Releasor for some reason, out of Court.

Quitclaims serve as contracts of compromise, allowing parties to avoid litigation. They are valid and binding agreements, provided they meet certain criteria:

The settlement must be credible and reasonable.
The person signing the quitclaim must do so voluntarily and with a full understanding of its implications1.
In essence, quitclaims allow parties to adjust their differences without resorting to legal battles. When employees voluntarily accept a reasonable amount or consideration as a settlement, these agreements are deemed valid and cannot be easily set aside.
