Have you ever come across a book of poems about words? I think I may have started a new genre in poetry writing. In this book are 30 words about which I wrote a poem defining or describing their contextual meaning.
Included are words like NONCHALANT, SERENDIPITY and AESTHETIC which are currently trending words across social media platforms. Some of the words may seem obscure and outdated, but are worth visiting and remembering. Definition by Description is more than your basic book of poems. Every part, including the prologue and epilogue are written with a poetic twist. Each of the thirty words included are defined by describing them as they relate to certain things and events, poetically. That is, with rhymes, rhythm, meter and tone. Of course, with all those figurative languages and speech. A dictionary? Maybe. A thesaurus? Perhaps. A new genre in poetry writing? Yes. It is definitely a lot more than an ebook of poetry.
