PLOT PYRAMID
Product by
rjamieashleyAbout this product
A plot pyramid (or Freytag’s Pyramid) shows the typical structure of a story in five parts. First is the Exposition, where characters, setting, and background are introduced. Next is the Rising Action, where conflicts and events build tension leading up to the story’s turning point. The Climax is the peak moment of tension or conflict, often the most exciting part. After that comes the Falling Action, where the story’s conflicts begin to resolve. Finally, the Resolution ties up loose ends and shows how things end for the characters. This structure helps understand how stories develop and keep readers engaged.
